CRIME VICTIM ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

(CVAP)

WHAT IS CVAP?

AND WHO IS IT FOR?

The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) is a provincially operated program designed to support survivors, their immediate family members and witnesses to violent crime in their recovery. Support is offered through assistance covering financial costs associated with recovery.

It is important to note that assistance is granted based on how likely it appears that the event occurred. Proof is not required, but details are helpful in their decision. This is why medical and police files can be of use. Survivors should also apply in the province their abuse occured.
