Helplines for Emergency Support
Fraser Valley Regional Crisis Line
The team at FVRCL are prepared to chat with you 24/7 about anything causing you distress, including things resulting from or connected to assault, such as depression, suicidal thoughts, loneliness, addiction, and more. If you are in a state of crisis due to these things, this is a good place to call.
SALAL CRISIS LINE
Salal offers 24/7 crisis assistance for those who have experienced a crisis of sexual or domestic abuse in the lower mainland of BC. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911 first, before calling Salal.
VictimLink BC
This service is toll-free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in different languages. They help “direct people to the services that fit their needs. . . and offer general information about the justice system, and other resources as needed.”
This is a good alternative to our services if you have a short window to call for help, need assistance in another language, or if you live outside the Fraser Valley as it is faster and more diverse but less personalized.
INDIGINOUS HELPLINE
Indigenous youth and adults have the option of connecting with First Nations, Inuit and Métis crisis responders when available by texting “First Nations” “Metis” or “Inuit” to 68 68 68 (youth) or 741 741 (adults). Or, call the number below.
CHILDREN’S HELPLINE
If you are a child and are in danger or have experienced harm, or would like to ask questions about what you have experienced, call the number below:
TO REPORT CHILD ABUSE
If you suspect child abuse, it is your duty to report. If a child or youth is in immediate danger, call police (call 9-1-1 or your local police) first, before calling this number.
911 EMERGENCY SERVICES
If you are in immediate danger or just experienced assault and are in need of urgent help, please call 911 for ambulance and police assistance.
