Support for those who identify as women, and their families.
The Surrey Women’s Center is loaded with services including legal aid, practical items, and emergency-response and follow-up services such as counselling for female-identifying survivors of sexual abuse and domestic abuse in Surrey, BC. Services are also extended to families of survivors as they navigate court and more.

VAN OUTREACH
The Surrey Mobile Assault Response Team (SMART) responds 24/7 to calls from survivors of sexual violence who are in need of emergency medical care. It can help with rides and accompaniment to medical care, police reporting, and referral to social services post-assault. Simply call to request this service.

SHARING CLOSET
The Surrey Women’s Center collects care items for women and girls who have fled violence, because they often hav to leave without their belongings. Included are household items and gently used or new clothing. This is typically offered to survivors who have contacted the Surrey Women’s Center for help as they transition.

COUNSELLING SERVICES
Surrey Women’s Clinic offers “Dignity Counselling Services” in two Surrey, BC locations. All counsellors work from a trauma-informed framework and can work using EMDR, Art Therapy and more. They all have a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and are dedicated to being non-judgemental and on your team. Any survivor or family member over 14 can apply. Appointments cost $100 and can be paid by you, by heath benefits, or by CVAP. Group Sessions are also offered.

LEGAL AID
For women who are fleeing family violence, legal representation and advice is available at the Jane Doe Legal Clinic. The Clinic will guide you through legal processes, including help reporting to the police and obtaining protection orders. The Surrey Women’s Center also offers Court Support, to help you understand your options and legal rights, and accompany you to legal proceedings. They will also prepare you for court and advocate for you along the way.
